Annie Lush is a former triple Match Racing World Champion and Olympic competitor.  In 2014/15 she competed in the Volvo Ocean Race with Team SCA, becoming part of the first ever female team to win a leg of the race.  She has competed in two around the World races and recently won the Ocean Race Europe with Offshore Team Germany.

 

At university Annie was part of the successful Cambridge University rowing crew who beat Oxford to the finish line of the Boat Race by the smallest recorded margin in the race’s history in 2001.  She says this is what inspired her to pursue a career in competitive sport and has been on the water everyday since.  

 

Annie is a passionate advocator for diversity & equality. She works with the1851 Trust on their Girls in STEM roadshows as well as consulting for businesses on Women in Leadership.  She is one of the founders of The Magenta Project, a charity which aims to inspire and support developing female sailors.  The Magenta Project have worked with over 300 girls from across the world, with training clinics, a mentoring programme and setting up race teams.  

In 2016/17 she set up and raced with Team Magenta on the World Match Racing Tour, the first female team to be awarded a tour card in the 22 year history of the World Match Racing Tour.
